These four Shopify-powered brands are winning their shoppers’ hearts by offering educational opportunities, focusing on sustainability, and using clean ingredients. 

From beauty and home goods to travel and apparel, these four Shopify brands are giving their customers what they want through visually appealing websites, unique product or brand offerings, and values-driven missions. Check out what makes them unique, and snag some inspiration for yourself. 

Olive & June - “Most Educational”

Brand mission:Olive & June was founded in 2013 by mani-obsessee Sarah Gibson Tuttle in Beverly Hills, California. O&J elevates the salon experience, giving women personalized attention and luxury service at an approachable price. With a new line of products, O&J is elevating the at-home experience, too. We believe no matter who you are, where you live, what you do, or what you wear, you can have a perfect manicure that makes you feel like your best self.”

Olive & June strives to educate and empower their audience by giving them skills and knowledge to feel more confident about their at-home manicures. They’ve dedicated a portion of their website to “Olive to Learn,” showcasing tutorials (dubbed “Olive University”), 7-day bootcamps, and 1-hour masterclasses tailored to different skill levels.

This educational sentiment is echoed in their product offerings, too. While shoppers can purchase individual nail polish colors and nail care items, Olive & June is most known for their “systems.” The brand offers three different systems to help shoppers achieve their best at-home manicure and/or pedicure: The Mani System, The Pedi System, and The Complete System (which packages The Mani System and The Pedi System into one comprehensive kit). 

To help amplify their educational initiatives, Olive & June sends SMS subscribers an automated post-purchase message asking if they’ve watched their mani and pedi tutorials. They use their positive and uplifting voice in the text message and end it with a direct link to their tutorials.

Made In Cookware - “Best Bang for Your Buck”

Brand mission: Made In Cookware designs professional-quality products for the home chef. Our cookware is easy to clean, will hold heat in the pan but not in the handles, and can go from the stovetop to the oven. Our knife is fully forged, perfectly balanced, and stays sharp and shiny from our nitrogen treatment. Everyone is capable of making restaurant-quality food at home—you just need the right tools to do it.”

Made In Cookware has cut out the “middle person” by eliminating resellers, distributors, and retailers from their business model—resulting in more affordable prices for consumers. This strategy also allows the brand to put more money into sourcing premium raw materials, working with the best manufacturers, and creating innovative products for professional and at-home chefs. They also offer a lifetime warranty to back up their philosophy that “better cookware means better meals” and that their products will stand the test of time.

The brand understands the challenges consumers face when trying to shop for quality cookware. We’ve all experienced some degree of confusion when deciding what type of cookware to buy, how long it will last, and what our budgets are. Made In Cookware simplifies the purchasing process by guiding you to the perfect product that fits your needs, promising all products are quality tested, and offering easy access to customer service in case you need a little more help.

Through their SMS program, Made in Cookware is making it even easier for subscribers to discover and purchase new products, in addition to sending videos with tips on how to create delicious recipes using their cookware. The brand recently introduced their new French Porcelain Bakeware collection, and included a link to the new item so subscribers could easily complete their purchase, right from their mobile device.

Paravel - “Most Sustainable”

Brand mission: Paravel’s eco-friendly luggage, bags, and organizers are crafted so you can make better choices for your adventures, without sacrificing design, price, or quality. We have upcycled over 2 million plastic water bottles to date, offset 8,150 tonnes of C02 through our carbon-neutral shipping program, and planted over 35,000 trees through Eden Reforestation Projects.”

Paravel believes that travel is an opportunity to improve ourselves and the world around us. Paravel was recently named a 2021 Travel + Leisure Global Vision Award Winner for their social responsibility programs, sustainability partners, and the ways they’re cultivating a positive impact on the planet.

From their carbon-neutral suitcase featuring recycled materials and lining made from upcycled plastic water bottles, to reimagined styles—including backpacks, packing organizers, and more—made from 100% post-consumer recycled plastic water bottles, Paravel has made it a priority to provide transparency into just how many bottles each of their products takes out of the ecosystem.

After a customer places their order, Paravel sends a personalized, automated transactional message with a link for subscribers to keep track of their shipping updates. They also reaffirm their mission by assuring customers that their shipment is carbon-neutral, and say thank you for making a sustainable purchase—helping customers feel even better about the money they’ve spent.

Jones Road Beauty - “Cleanest Ingredients”
